PageRank – The word which is governing the Google search. It is a combination of two technical terms PAGE & RANK. Here the first term Page indicates the webpage and another term Rank is just an arrangement of pages on the basis of 200+ parameters. The idea of ordering information from the web in a hierarchy on the basis of “link popularity” firstly came into the mind of Sergey Brin at Stanford University. Actually, PageRank is a result of combined research of two genius Larry Page and Sergey Brin. PageRank is an Algorithm that orders web pages on the basis of 200+ parameters within a second on the basis of the search keyword. We can’t deny the fact that Google is one of the best search engine available in the market and far far better than its competitors and it is all because of its accuracy, efficiency and finally the simple interface. PageRank algorithm is the soul of the Google search engine.
The efficiency of the PageRank algorithm is unpredictable and it’s all because of the complexity of deep mathematics used behind it. To write an algorithm for a search engine is not a hard task anymore. The thing truly matters is the accuracy, speed, etc. Actually,It is an algorithm which analyses the link and assigns a numerical weighting to each element of the document of hyperlinked sets such as www (World Wide Web) with the purpose of “measuring” its relative importance within the set. Practically It checks the link popularity. A page is ranked higher as there are more links to it.
